‘Cow Boy,’ ‘Hopeless, Maine,’ and ‘Rust Vol. 1’ make YALSA’s annual list o
f recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction for those aged 12-18

Los Angeles, CA (January 31, 2013) – Archaia Entertainment is proud to announce that three of its titles have been selected by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), for the organization’s 2013 Great Graphic Novels for Teens List! Cow Boy Vol. 1: A Boy and His Horse by Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos; Hopeless Maine Vol. 1: Personal Demons, by Tom Brown and Nimue Brown; and Rust Vol. 1: Visitor in the Field by Royden Lepp have been selected as three of the best graphic novels for teen readers ages 12-18.

YALSA is a national association of over 5,200 librarians, library workers, and advocates whose mission is to expand and strengthen library services for teens, aged 12-18. Through its member-driven advocacy, research, and professional development initiatives, YALSA builds the capacity of libraries and librarians to engage, serve and empower teens. The Great Graphic Novels for Teens List contains recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction works and is prepared every year.

Cow Boy Vol. 1: A Boy and His Horse ($19.95, ISBN13: 978-1-936393-67-1) is the story of a young bounty hunter determined to send his entire outlaw family to jail. “Well, tarnation! What an honor to be included on a list of such great books!” exclaimed Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos. “Thanks mega-heaps and tons to the Young Adult Library Services Association for selecting Cow Boy, and for being so proactive with getting these kinds of books into young hands.
