COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS
Archaia is interested in publishing creator-owned comic books in the fantasy, horror, pulp noir, and science fiction genres that contain idiosyncratic and atypical writing and art. Archaia does not hire freelancers or arrange for freelance work, so submissions should only be for book and series proposals. Archaia is primarily interested in full-color projects, but proposals for black & white projects will also be considered.

In your proposal, please include the following:

* A cover letter with your contact information (an ideal minimum: name, address, phone number, and email or website info) and basic introduction to you and your work. A resume is not necessary.
* A short synopsis of the overall story. This can be included as part of the cover letter, and should include descriptions of the major characters, plot developments, and themes of the story, as well as technical details such as intended series length, projected page counts, etc.
* Photocopy samples of completed pages from the book or first issue of a series. Ideally, this should be the entire first issue or project completed, but works-in-progress are acceptable. Submissions on CD are also acceptable, but hardcopies are preferred.
* If you like, a self-addressed stamped envelope may be included if you wish your samples returned. I know samples and copies cost money to make, so if you’d like them back include a SASE, otherwise they will remain in ASP’s files.
* URL links to your art or submission will not be accepted. Hard copies only. Please send your proposal to:

Archaia Studios Press
Attn: Comics Submissions Dept.
586 Devon Street, 3rd floor
Kearny, NJ 07032-2804

Archaia will endeavor to give you a response to your submission as soon as possible, but please be aware it may take considerable time for that to happen. Email follow-up inquiries are fine, but please avoid calling to find out the status of your submission.

Thanks for your interest!
