Moro Rogers was born in Newark, DE in 1981. When she was very young her parents showed her a lot of scary movies like DUMBO, which informed her nightmares as well as many other aspects of her personality. Some of her earliest memories are of her father bringing home rat snakes and other creepy crawlers to show her and her siblings.
For a while she thought about becoming a zoologist, but eventually she realized that she enjoyed making things up more than collecting data, so she decided to apply to the California Institute of the Arts’ Character Animation program. Here, she met a bunch of cool people, learned about filmmaking and overcame her fear of drawing from life.
After graduating Calarts in 2007, she had various odd jobs in animation and freelance illustration.
She lives in El Segundo, CA with her husband Jason and Gozer the Cat (with whom she shares a love of birdwatching.) CITY IN THE DESERT is her first graphic novel.
